Costa Dorada villas make perfect holiday destinations

The Costa Dorada (Golden Coast), stretching 220 kilometres southwest along the Spanish coastline from Barcelona, is famed for its mild climate, sunny beaches, laid-back lifestyle and its range of Costa Dorada villas. With a mountainous backdrop, the plains are home to 20 towns and its farmers grow vines, olives, carobs, and hazel and almond nuts.

The Baix Penedes district, in the north, includes the seaside towns of Cunit and Calafell and the inland towns of El Vendrell, with its abundant monuments and Albinyana, with its African wildlife reserve and Aqualandia amusement water park. Nearby, is the little village of Creixell, built around an ancient castle, and the beach of Torredembarra with its clear, shallow waters. The 16th century Castle Palace here preserves the remains of a Roman town and two 15th century porticos. All Costa Dorada villas are within easy reach of these attractions.

Villas on the Costa Dorada
The city of Tarragona has Roman and medieval architecture and there are excellent beaches at El Miracle, La Arrabassada, La Savinosa and Playa Llarga. At nearby popular Salou, with its many tourist facilities, are seaside walks, sandy beaches and sheltered coves. This southern part of Costa Dorada includes Sant Carles de la Rapita, an important farming and fishing town, famous for its seafood cuisine, near the bay of Els Alfacs, the largest natural port in Europe. In the far south is Les Cases d'Alcanar, a typical seaside village with 12 kilometres of coastline, including many beaches, hotels, restaurants and some excellent villas on the Costa Dorada.
